Dear Parent(s):

Welcome to 8th-grade ELAR / Advanced ELAR and the new school year! My name is Dionne Lindberg, and I will be your child's teacher. I am delighted to have your child in my class this year. I am dedicated to providing a safe and cooperative learning environment that allows all students to grow academically and personally. Your child will be a part of many exciting and rewarding experiences this academic year with your encouragement. 

My classroom is a work-oriented environment, where students are self-motivated and able to communicate their ideas freely. They will receive strong guidance when necessary, but my overall goal is to build critical thinking skills. I will do this by providing them the autonomy to investigate materials through student-centered discussions, and I will not solely rely on lectures. 

I feel that developing a safe, orderly, and nurturing environment is the responsibility of all classroom participants. Therefore, I have high expectations for myself and have high expectations for my students. With hard work, patience, and your support, I do not doubt that we can all succeed this year, learn from one another, and have fun in the process.
