Syllabus

Dear Students/Parents:

Welcome to my  7th Grade Social Studies class!  I’m excited about the opportunity to get to know you and I’m looking forward to having a very productive school year.

Throughout the course of the academic year, we will study various aspects of culture, geography, history, economics, government, citizenship, political science, and social studies skills.  We will mostly focus on Texas and US History throughout the duration of this year.  Texas History will be taught during the first semester and US History for the second semester.

Tests, Projects, and Assignments:

Students will have a minimum of 4 Exams each six-weeks. Test grades may be based on projects or examinations. A minimum of 2 daily grades will be collected each week. Late work will automatically get a maximum grade of 80 (based on 100% completion with zero errors). Work turned in more than 2 days late will automatically receive a 70 grade, and work turned in more than three days late will not be accepted and will automatically receive a 0% grade. Obviously, there are exceptions so please communicate with me if you need more time to complete assignments.  Absent students are responsible for asking about missed assignments. Most assignments and projects will be done at school. If more time is needed, I will work with you in order to complete your assignments.

Supplies needed:

  • Pens (Black/Blue)

  • Pencils

  • Box of Kleenex (for extra credit)

If you have any questions, concerns, or to schedule a conference, you can contact me through Remind: @mreynaums or you can email me at: mreyna28@uisd.net.  My conference period is from 1:30-2:15pm.  You may also call me @ 473-7353 but I respond faster through Remind or email.

Once again, welcome to 7th grade Social Studies.  Let's work together to make this the best year ever!

Sincerely,
