HELLO MAVERICK ARTISTS

CLASS INFORMATION

In this class together we shall explore the wonderful world of art, specifically focusing on the Elements of Art. We will explore a variety of media, techniques and art styles of different artists and cultures. We will express our ideas, thoughts and imagination in a visual format. We will be creating, maintaining and evaluating our own Student Artist Growth Portfolio.

 

WHAT MATERIALS WILL YOU BE NEEDING?

Daily materials

  1. Pencils (required daily))
  2. Erasers (Ex. Pink, Staedtler, kneaded eraser, etc.)
  3. Spiral sketchbook (5.5x8 or 7x10) NO LINED SKETCHBOOK

Portfolio materials

  1. 1 Binder (3-ring binder with 2’ rings and 520 capacity)
  2. 9x12 Sheet Protectors for binder

Project materials

  1. Sharpies (1 ultra fine point, 1 fine point, 1 chisel point)
  2. Markers (colored sharpies, thin/thick, crayola, etc.)
  3. Glue sticks and liquid Elmer’s Glue bottle
  4. 2 Ebony Pencils to shade
  5. Blending stumps
  6. 1 Canvas or canvas panel
  7. Crayons 24 pack 
  8. Colored Pencils
  9. Baby wipes
  10. Kleenex

WHERE CAN YOU GET THE MATERIALS?

Most basic art supplies are available at Walmart, Target, HEB, Michaels, Hobby Lobby, Office Depot, Dollar stores, etc.

WHEN DO YOU NEED THEM?

We will be using materials all year long, therefore by the 2nd - 3rd week of school.
